Connecting GoHighLevel
Seamlessly integrate your GoHighLevel account with TheDisruptor.AI to automatically import contacts and sync qualified leads back to your CRM.
Before You Begin
Step 1: Find Your GoHighLevel API Key
Your API key is what allows The Disruptor to securely access your GoHighLevel data. Here's how to find it:
Log into GoHighLevel
Go to your GoHighLevel dashboard and make sure you're in the correct account/location.
Navigate to Settings
Click the gear icon (Settings) in the left sidebar, then select "Integrations" from the menu.
Find API Keys
Look for "API Keys" or "REST API" section. Click "Create API Key" if you don't have one already.
Copy Your API Key
Your API key will look like a long string of letters and numbers. Click the copy icon to copy it.
Keep Your API Key Secure
Never share your API key publicly or with unauthorized people. This key gives access to your GoHighLevel data.
Step 2: Find Your Location ID
The Location ID identifies which GoHighLevel location/sub-account you want to connect. If you only have one location, this will be your main account ID.
Check Your URL
Look at your GoHighLevel URL in the browser. It should contain your location ID after the domain.
Alternative Method
Go to Settings → Company → Company Info. Your Location ID should be displayed at the top of the page.
Copy the ID
The Location ID is usually a string like "abc123def456". Copy this exactly as shown.
Step 3: Connect in The Disruptor
Now that you have your API key and Location ID, let's connect them in your The Disruptor account.
Go to Settings
In your The Disruptor dashboard, click "Settings" in the sidebar menu.
Find Integrations Tab
Click on the "Integrations" tab, then look for the GoHighLevel section.
Enter Your Credentials
Paste your API key and Location ID into the respective fields:
Test Connection
Click "Test Connection" to verify your credentials are working. You should see a green success message.
Save Settings
Click "Save" to store your integration settings. Your accounts are now connected!
How Contact Syncing Works
Once connected, The Disruptor automatically syncs with your GoHighLevel account using a tag-based system.

The "Voice AI" Tag System
This tag-based system gives you complete control over which contacts get called. Only contacts with the exact tag "voice AI" (case-sensitive) will be imported and made available for campaigns. Remove the tag to stop calling a contact.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
❌ "Invalid API Key" Error
Most common causes and solutions:
- Double-check you copied the entire API key without extra spaces
- Make sure you're using a fresh API key (old ones may expire)
- Verify you have the correct permissions in GoHighLevel
- Try creating a new API key if the issue persists
❌ "Location Not Found" Error
Solutions to try:
- Confirm your Location ID matches exactly (case-sensitive)
- Check if you're in the right GoHighLevel account/sub-account
- Make sure your API key has access to this specific location
⚠️ No Contacts Syncing
Check these items:
- Contacts in GHL must have exactly the tag "voice AI" (case-sensitive)
- Contacts must have valid phone numbers in GHL
- Try manually syncing from the Contacts page
- Check if your API key has permission to read contacts
⚠️ Qualified Leads Not Updating GHL
Possible solutions:
- Verify your API key has write permissions in GHL
- Check if the integration is still connected in Settings
- Allow up to 5 minutes for updates to appear in GHL
- Contact support if the issue continues
